Pros and cons of ARKANOID app for iPhone and iPad
ARKANOID app good for
I saw this and immediately bought it. I was surprised I beat it on the first try on medium difficulty starting with 3 lives. I think I lost 3 lives throughout the entire game and, of course, I mustve picked up extra lives along the way. I should qualify this by saying that I once stayed on the *arcade* machine once for 45 minutes with one quarter… so I look forward to trying the more difficult setting.
All in all, I really like it, but I dont know why sometimes on the later levels it becomes jerky when there are three balls moving incredibly fast. This didnt happen on the 1986 arcade version and I believe the iPhones capabilities are a bit better than the graphics processing on that machine!
Just like the one that I played when I was a kid. Very fun game.
I love this game! Brings back alot of memories of pumping quarters into arcade cabinets!
This is a great update visually but I do wish there was an option for the classic music. I loved the little jingle at the start of a new stage. Sadly that isnt there anymore. Its only at the beginning of the game.
That said this update is really fun! Back to gaming!!
I had this on the Amiga and the memories are back! And cooler! Beats all the brick-like copies out there.
Just like the original! Great fun. Have to wait for someone or something? Pull this out and time flies by. Great job. First review I have ever written...thats how impressed I am.
Sometimes I click to save progress. Try to play later and it starts at the 1st level again! Please fix this bug! Otherwise great game.
Some bad moments
After the latest iOS update, all the colors in the game are screwed up. Red is now blue for example. The game still works, but it looks kind of ugly.
Also, it would be nice to be able to listen to iPod music while playing. Sure you can select specific tracks to play for each stage, but thats not really the same thing.
This game needs an update.
I paid for the game (was my favorite arcade game!!) and played it once which definitely meet my expectations......but then went "other TAITO" games within the main menu....it opened a web browser, which is fine, but now whenever I click on the app on my iphone the web browser comes up and not the game!! I cant play it anymore!! FIX THIS PROBLEM!!!
If you enjoy watching a blank white screen, then this is the game for you. Otherwise, save your money and avoid this scam.
I love paying $5.00 for an app the just simply doesnt work... The support page for ARKANOID is in Chinese or Japanese.

i wanted this game very badly after becoming addicted to brick breaker, even though there were some poor reviews. Sure enough, I get the white screen of death. Enjoy my 5 bucks!!
